#WCW: Top Three Heroines

It’s Wednesday, and on the innanets, that means its #WomanCrushWednesday, so I wanted to take some time and highlight MY top three heroines. Choosing three wasn’t easy. After writing sixteen books, every character is near and dear to my heart, but the three below hold a very special place in my heart.

Kassandra Wilson

Kassandra was introduced in my first erotic romance, Love Me Up, which follows her and her friends’ last college spring break in Miami. While in Miami, she meets Amani and boy does the sparks fly!

I personally love Kass because she was adventurous and unapologetic about the relationship she had with Amani. Even though their time together was short (about five days), she spent every moment she had with him. She let her guard down just enough to get to know him and even stayed a few extra days after her friends left town. In the end, the risk she took was worth it. She went to Miami for fun in the sun and left with the man of her dreams.

Sometimes love doesn’t come in a pretty package with a big red bow. Kassandra and Amani’s story proves that. It’s short, sweet, and hella steamy.

Love Me Up

Shiloh Hurston

In my opinion, Shiloh is my most vulnerable heroine. From the first chapter, she bares her soul to us and the crowd that filled Ray’s every Friday night. In Brown Sugar, Shiloh uses her poetry to heal from a past relationship. Another faithful attendee of Ray’s open mic night, Marquis, catches her eye, and from there, we watch (read) their palpable chemistry ignite. In just one night, they share the ugliest parts of themselves, creating a bond that I loved watching play out. Shiloh’s vulnerability was admirable, and once her love interest showed her grace, it was a wrap.

My sweet Shi showed me that it is okay to be vulnerable. Putting yourself out there doesn’t always end in regret or embarrassment.

Shiloh and Marquis’s story super sweet, sultry, and so satisfying.

Brown Sugar

Tessa Moore

Tessa is the queen of boundaries. In Warmth, she was upfront about her expectations and stood firm in her stance. She wanted nothing more than a FWB and for the most part, Raj was on board too. I mean, eventually, she stopped playing with Raj, but not because she folded under pressure. Before meeting Raj, Tessa was in a relationship that shrunk her personality and diminished her happiness. On top of that, her mother wasn’t supportive of her decision to end the relationship.

Once she met Raj, she made sure to be clear in her intentions and required him to do the same. Raj was nothing like her ex, and everything she ever hoped for in a partner. After finally letting her last relationship go, she was ready to fully open her heart. In Warmth, Tessa and Raj go from FWB to lovebirds. I enjoyed writing and reading their story

Next week, I’ll share my top 3 heros.
