#MCM: Top Three-ish Heroes

I’m back again, but this time I’m going to fawn over MY favorite heroes. It was vv hard to pick just THREE, so I didn’t. I chose four. Well, three and an honorable mention. :)

Ryder Greene

Ahh, my Ry-Ry.

Ryder, in my opinion, is my sweetest and most patient hero. In “Ready for Love,” Ryder and Summer take the slow approach and get to know one another before getting together. They’d been acquaintances for a while and had mutual friends. Ryder was somewhat new to their circle after moving in with his cousin, Taj. There was always an attraction between him and Summer, but both were too consumed by their wounds to notice.

Once they were all in, they were all in.

The one thing I love most about Ryder was the attention he showed Summer. The intimacy they shared is one of the reasons I love him and their story so much. On one of her toughest days, he stepped up and took her somewhere he knew she’d love. Throughout the novel, Summer hinted at how much she loved sunflowers. Ryder took her to a sunflower field and even bought her a few. There are a few other instances where he made me swoon.

(I won’t ruin it for you though)

Christian Pearson

Christian, aka #ChristmasBae, is my low-key, and most slept on hero, and here is why…

In True Love for Christmas, Christian comes back to town after living in Brazil for three years. After learning that his birth father was alive and well, Chris jumped at the chance to meet him. While away, he and his college BFF, Noel, fell off. To make matters worse, they both moved on and found love.

Once Chris caught wind of Noel’s breakup and other wounds she endured, he decided it was time to come back home. His return wasn’t all butterflies and heart eyes; he had a lot of explaining to do. Chris didn’t back down, though. He showed Noel how much she meant to him. The days leading up to Christmas were filled with them reliving some of their favorite memories and creating new ones.

I love a good second chance story just as much as I love a good Christmas romance. True Love for Christmas was the perfect mix of both. Read Noel and Christian’s heartwarming story, available now on Amazon.

Mecca Watson

Mecca, Mecca, Mecca!

I could not make a list of my faves without mentioning him!

He was everything.

He was patient, loving, sweet, caring, and madly in love with Nina Wilkerson.

Mecca Watson was first introduced in “New Year Kiss,” a short story leading up to Mecca’s girlfriend Nina’s birthday and the new year. In NYK, we get a tiny glimpse of how sweet and caring he is. In “Because of Love,” we get a more in-depth look at Mecca’s life, both business and personal.

I adore Mecca because he was about three things, and three things only: His family, his music, and his relationship with Nina. Throughout the story, he shows a pretty solid work-life balance for an up and coming rapper. I don’t think I ever question his love or loyalty for Nina. Even when temptation came in the form of a future label mate, he did what he thought was necessary for his relationship and career. When things got shaky for him and Nina, he wasn’t afraid to express his hurt, nor did he shy away from it. I still stan him to this day, and it’s been a year since I wrote his story.

If you haven’t read Because of Love yet, you’re trippin’! :)

Honorable Mention

Danilo James

“ A man with a dark past, a bright future, and a heart full of love.”

Danilo was my most troubled yet caring hero.

In “Love’s Language,” he and Skylar start as enemies. Even though they didn’t care for each other, they were still loyal to one another. Before they even realized they had feelings for each other, he always had Skylar’s back. On the night of Skylar’s twenty-first birthday, she experiences something life-changing. As always, Danilo was there for her. From there, the loyalty they shared turned into love.

Danilo was gentle, compassionate, and empathetic; three things I didn’t expect when I looked over his character profile. Danilo was also vv serious about his mental health. Throughout the story, he visited his therapist and shared his fears and faced them. In the end, he came out a better man and found the love he desperately sought after.
